Relations between India and the Netherlands are evolving very fast now. Like four centuries ago.....

Ambassador - H.E Alphonsus Stoelinga

Relations between India and the Netherlands are evolving very fast now. Like four centuries ago, the Netherlands is again becoming India’s hub in Europe. Hub in Europe for Indian exporters, investors and travellers. But also India’s hub for technologies in water, port development, logistics, life-scienes and health, agriculture and finance.
This enhanced relationship was the reason for the Dutch government to open a Consulate General in Bangalore and an Honorary Consulate in Lucknow. And it is the basis on which Jet Airways and KLM increase the number of flights between India and the Netherlands from one daily, direct flight in 2016 to five by the end of 2017.
The Netherlands diplomatic network in India now is present in eight metropolitan areas in India: Delhi (Embassy), Mumbai and Bangalore (Consulates General), Hyderabad and Ahmedabad (Netherlands Business Support Offices), Kolkata and Lucknow (Honorary Consulates) and a trade consul in Chennai.
Our network is actively engaging with other actors in the India-Netherlands relationship. The Indo Dutch Chamber of business and sciences (IDC) is a very important player for us. It has a much broader scope then its precursors and is therefore better placed for its role in the very fast evolving and broadening India- Netherlands relationship.
Whether you are interested in the Netherlands as a businessman, journalist, a scholar, artist, expert, student, alumnus, traveller etc., membership of IDC will bring you in contact with others interested in the Netherlands and in contact with us of the diplomatic network of the Netherlands in India. See you at the next IDC event.
