“Relations between India and the Netherlands are evolving swiftly. India is an important partner for the Netherlands, both, economically and geopolitically. Indo-Dutch partnerships across Water, Port Development, Logistics, Healthcare, Agriculture, Creative Industries are constantly trying to tackle challenges we all face and turn them into opportunities for both our nations. More than 200 Dutch companies like Philips, DSM, among others have been active in India for many years. Similarly, Indian companies like Dr Reddy’s, Sun Pharma, Infosys etc enjoy the foreign-investor-friendly and supportive business climate of the Netherlands. Both, India and the Netherlands are also very committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and are cooperating closely together on developing business related to the SDGs.
Over the past few years, the engagement between our two nations has touched new heights. This is evident through increased direct flights, fruitful conversations between our top leaders and the Dutch government opening a Consulate General in Bangalore and an Honorary Consulate in Lucknow.
The Netherlands diplomatic network in India is now active in 8 Indian metropolitan cities: Delhi (Embassy), Mumbai and Bangalore (Consulate Generals), Hyderabad and Ahmedabad (Netherlands Business Support Offices), Kolkata and Lucknow (Honorary Consulates) and a trade consul in Chennai. Our network is actively engaging with other actors in the India-Netherlands relationship. The Indo Dutch Chamber of business and sciences (IDC) is an important player for us. It has a much broader scope than its precursors and is therefore better placed for its role in the very fast evolving and broadening India- Netherlands relationship.Whether you are interested in the Netherlands as a businessman, journalist, scholar, expert, student, alumnus, traveller etc., membership of IDC will bring you in contact with others interested in the Netherlands and us, from the diplomatic network of the Netherlands in India. See you at the next IDC event.”
